6LoWPAN on MSB-A2
Routing and addressing are fundamental functions of a network. As classical approaches are not suitable for wireless sensor networks (WSN) new technologies must be studied to connect these networks with traditional ones. Using IPv6 over a 802.15.4 based MAC layer is proposed as a possible solution of this problem. Therefore IETF has created a working group called 6lowpan.
In the DES-Testbed we built the WSN component using MSB-A2 sensor nodes. For an evaluation of 6LoWPAN in our testbed there is the need for an implementation of this protocol stack for this platform.
As developing software for embedded systems requires experience and profound knowledge of low-level programming, we recommend this thesis to students with good understanding of microcontroller architectures.
