Dipl.-Inform. Bastian Blywis
Bastian Blywis joined the research group Computer Systems & Telematics (CST) at the Institute of Computer Science, Freie Universität Berlin in April 2007 after graduating with a Diploma degree in Computer Science. He was employed as a teaching assistent and as a software engineer for the mobile safety/security sensor nets project (mo-sense). His research domains are IEEE 802.11 based wireless multi-hop networks with focus on network protocols, operating systems, system integration, and distributed localization. Bastian Blywis is involved in the DES-Testbed that is part of the OPNEX, WISEBED, and G-Lab projects. He is the software architect and manager of the DES-SERT routing framework project. From 2008 to 2009 he was responsible for an industry project with Telefunken RACOMS. Since April 2011, he is a full-time research associate in the Distributed, Embedded System research group after beeing an associated researcher for 4 years. He is working towards his PhD and plans to be finished in spring 2012.

Supervised Theses
The following theses have been (or are currently) supervised by me. If not otherwise noted in the title, my theses are always testbed-based, i.e., studies are run in a real world system. Simulations are only used for comparison due to their significant abstractions.
