TBRPF - The Unknown MANET Protocol
Besides AODV, DSR, and OSLR, Topology Dissemination Based on Reverse-Path Forwarding (TBRPF) is the fourth protocol ratified by the IETF MANET work group. It is suprisingly unknown and overshadowed by the others. As we already have (multiple) implementations of AODV, DSR, and OLSR, we still need an TBRPF routing daemon and a study of its performance.
It would be your task to implement the routing protocol based on our DES-SERT routing framework. For the evaluation, specific experiment scenarios have to be defined. After running the experiments, all data has to be evaluated in a sound way. The same experiment setup shall be used to measure data with the other protocols, to be able to make a comparison.
Objectives
- Read the TBRPF RFC
- Get familar with DES-SERT
- Implement TBRPF
- Get familar with our AODV, DSR, and OLSR implementations (maybe also B.A.T.M.A.N.)
- Specify experiment scenarios including metrics
- Run experiments in the DES-Testbed
- Evaluate the measured data and compare the performance
